Finally got the black and white's scanned. I love this film; after using Kodak CNBW 400 for the last 4 or 5 years, I just realized how much sexier the contrast is with Ilford XP2. I have a new favorite!
What I don't love is my film scanner; the Nikon Coolscan IV ED. For some reason, I can't get the black and white points to come out properly, so I have to do a LOT of post work in Photoshop to get my contrasts looking good. Also, the Digital ICE (repairs scratches and dust on a negative) doesn't work, so I'm in these images with a 3 pixel brush knocking out scratches my (admittedly dirty) Nikon N80 leaves. Anyhow, hope you like! Critique as you will. Nikon N80 with Ilford XP2 ISO 400 CNBW Nikkor 50mm F1.8, shot at ~2.8. |
